Team Bio

Solano Titans
U-14 Boys, Div. I

The Solano Titans are in their first year in the Premier Division, although head coach Tony Garcia has been coaching for nine years in both the Fairfield-Suisun Youth Soccer League and the Solano Soccer Club. It is the goal of the coaches to successfully teach players the mechanics of soccer, advanced skills and the importance of being a team player. The target of the season is to develop players for advanced teams and to instill a passion and respect for the game.

Coaches

Tony Garcia: Head Coach, currently holds an F and D license and is a certified referee. He coached for the FSYSL from 1999-2002 with the Fairfield Stars and for the Solano Soccer Club from 2003-present. Coaching experience also includes two consecutive seasons in the Sports Center of Excellence Soccer League in Vacaville. He has been playing soccer for more than 30 years, grew up playing soccer overseas as well as with the U.S. Army. He also participated in the United Cup, a competitive soccer league with United Airlines, playing soccer against other countries.

Team Goals/Objectives

To promote the skills of each player by presenting a friendly atmosphere in a competitive environment, creating self-challenges and goals. This is a team with a committed leadership via an enjoyment of the game and a passion to learn.

Required Commitment

It is required for team players to attend all games and practices. This helps to unify the team, instill commitment and create a mutual respect for one another.
Team players and parents are also required to participate in fundraising events to maximize and support the team’s financial needs as well as the Solano Soccer Club.

Team Fees

New uniforms are required this year, with costs up to $200. Each family will also be responsible for registration fees, training, tournaments and club fee, which could total between $250-$350. To offset costs, we encourage sponsors and fundraising.

Practice Schedule

There will be three practices per week (days and time to be determined), beginning April/May through November. Practice days may drop to two days per week beginning September.

Tournaments

We will focus on attending as many tournaments as possible (at least three), as team funds permit.
